Infarcted Fibroadenoma of the Breast: Difficulties in Diagnosis

Introduction: Infarction is a very rare complication of fibroadenoma. Diagnosis such situation not easy. Case Presentation: 23-year-old woman with painful tumor the right breast mild erythema at periareolar region. Breast ultrasound shows heterogeneous lesion 31×30 mm, in retroareolar well-defined borders, and does present vascular flow inside. Antibiotic treatment was administered without improvement. The repeated no significant changes. Surgical removal well-encapsulated cystic performed. patient discharged same day surgery, her postoperative evolution correct. Histopathologic evaluation revealed an infarcted Conclusion: could be useful diagnosis fibroadenoma; consists local excision lesion.
